WUR BIG TRIP - ONICH & LOCH LINNHE

Four trips under her (fan)belt, it was now time for the Chuggabug to really prove her worth, for what we optimistically called "wur big trip" - a 3-week jaunt to the far north of Scotland. But we didn't want to travel in straight lines, planning instead to poke around the many peninsulas hugging Scotland's western fringes en route to Durness. The old jalopy did the business, clocking up about 800 miles without a complaint. More of a concern were swarms of marauding clegs (driven mad by a particularly hot summer) - hence the appearance of bitten ankles and walking sticks in some pics. The white cottage pictured here was Jane's digs during her stint at Onich Hotel as a spry 17-year old.
